About The Gig Harbor Film Festival

Mission Statement
The mission of the Gig Harbor Film Festival is to feature independent films that draw on the unifying power of cinema to promote understanding, tolerance and global awareness.

Commitment
Our commitment is to educate, entertain and inspire filmmakers and audiences alike while enriching the cultural vitality of the community through the art of cinema.

Our Goal
The GHFF Board proposed to undertake the annual film festival in Gig Harbor, with its inaugural event schedule for September 2008.

The festival was to include local, regional, and international filmmakers to advance a variety of creative ideas and bring the community a diverse range of appealing films, giving aspiring filmmakers an opportunity to present their efforts to a sophisticated audience and gain recognition beyond the local level.

Benefits
• Begin a community involved tradition
• Improve tourism opportunities
• Advance the reputation of Gig Harbor as a cultural icon
• Educate the community and youth in film-related workshops and seminars
